4 WEEK DIVEMASTER COURSE
Khao Lak Scuba Adventures is the busiest and largest award winning PADI 5 Star CDC Career Development Center in Khao Lak with 7 liveaboards, cruising the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock – widely regarded as some of the top 10 dive sites in the world.
We have our own purpose built dive pool, classrooms, IDC classroom and chilled study areas. With so many boats and lots of courses taking place, there are lots of opportunities to follow courses, get real-life experience of a busy dive shop, meet lots of divers of all abilities and skill levels, so that at the end of your course you have a good working knowledge to take with you on your future career.
The PADI Divemaster course teaches you to be a leader and take charge of dive activities. Through theory sessions, water-skills exercises and workshops, and hands-on practical assessment, you develop the skills to organise and direct a variety of scuba diving activities.
Working closely with your Instructors, you’ll fine-tune your dive skills, like perfecting the effortless hover, and refine your rescue skills so you learn to anticipate and easily solve common problems. You will gain dive knowledge, management and supervision abilities so you become a role model to divers everywhere. You’ll learn to lead others as you supervise scuba diving activities and assist with diver training.
4 weeks in total
Divemaster Course 44.900 THB + PADI Divemaster Crew Pack 9.000 THB. All prices do not include 7% VAT.
You’ll start off by getting to know the dive shop, your course mates and instructors. This is where we really get into our skills and workshops and start to get to grips with the basics of things like skill demonstration and problem solving. The first day we aim to get into skills practice in the pool as soon as we have all the necessary paperwork done. Towards the end of the week we will be looking at refining these skills and getting you ready for your first trip out on the liveaboard! Of course we can’t spend the entire week in the pool, so this is also your chance to really increase your dive knowledge, from the physics and biology of diving right through to the internal workings of a dive shop and everything in between.
Week 3 liveaboard and course experience
By this point, the aim is to get you either partly or completely leading dives and being able to give dive briefings to the boat. Just like the first trip, you will also be assisting on courses and using those key divemaster skills that were learned in week 1.
Week 2 liveaboard and course experience
The moment you’ve been waiting for, your first chance to get out to the world famous dive sites and out into practice what you’ve been working for over the last week. On this trip there will also be some practice scenarios for you to get stuck into as well as assisting with courses where possible.
Week 4 liveaboard and course experience/ career development
This is your time to shine, its your third liveaboard and you may be asked to lead a group for the entire trip under the supervision of another instructor. You get to impress all the guests with your comprehensive knowledge of diving and your awesome dive skills.
As this is now the last week of the course it would be a great time to start thinking about your next steps in your career and, as a 5 star CDC, you couldn’t be in a better place to start your professional dive career with all of the knowledge and advice that will be on offer to you to help you become the best PADI pro possible!
During your time here with us there will be plenty of time in the evenings for you to get to know your course mates and instructors better. Quite often there are large outings involving loads of members of staff and DM candidates alike, its a great atmosphere to enjoy.
